What I'm Packing for NYFW
I'm feeling a bit of nostalgia as I write this with flashbacks to 2012
So I guess this is my first post! In the early days of blogging I would sit down to write my thoughts, share photos, links and write a little more than what would fit into an instagram caption. I love this full circle moment how we went from long form written content, to photos, to video just to come back to something a little more thoughtful.
Right after Labor Day it is a feeling of back to school for me, I talked about it in last week’s solo episode of Life with Marianna. New York Fashion Week usually kicks off the end of Summer and the start of a new season. I see friends and peers I haven’t seen since the Spring, you buy a new outfit for the first day and you ask everyone “how was your Summer!”
I am heading to NYC for a very quick trip, so I wanted to pack as minimally as I could. The weather will be hot, the city will be busy and outside of events that I am attending I wanted to be comfortable and casual.
Here’s What I’m Packing

I’m keeping it very simple outside of the events and shows I am attending. I’m so grateful that I get to attend events and the brands dress me, which makes it way less stressful to have to figure out what I’m going to wear. Outside of the events, I’m planning on just walking around the city and eating — so I wanted to be comfortable.
My current favorite pair of jeans are these Levi's Wedgie Straight Fit Women’s Jeans, (photo above and below) I wish they had them in more washes without distressed knees or I would buy more of them. They are the perfect length to wear with flats or heels and they come in 26 and 28in inseam depending on your height, I went for the 26in since I’m petite.
Ballet Flats
They never weren’t in style, but I am so happy there are getting the love they deserve again this Fall. Last September, they started creeping up again in everyones wardrobe but this year is on another level. I have bought way too many pairs — but they are all different! I love that I can be comfortable and put together and that they make any outfit more elevated.
I have this pair of leather ballet flats (photo above) I love from The Row, but there was a great dupe from Jeffrey Campbell that I bought in dark beige.
What’s In My Bag

I have some absolute musts in my bag that I cannot travel without. Electrolytes and magnesium are always with me no matter where I go. I drink electrolytes during the day, and magnesium before I go to sleep at night. Yes I use Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask when I travel, but did you know this can be used daily as a moisturizer? It comes in mini and full size, and I love to keep a mini in my carry on bag to use as a hand cream.
Other essentials…
Silk Eye mask
Earplugs
Airpods
mini iPad + pre-download my favorite shows to watch or podcast episodes to listen to
Hand Sanitizer
Socks
Listerine Spray
